‘Cockroach Janta Party’ Goes Viral as Youth Satire Movement Sparks Online Storm
The creation of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) becomes a strong satire on India’s youth, frustrated with the country’s economic and social situation after the remark of Supreme Court Chief Justice Surya Kant that compared the unemployed youths and activists of the country to “cockroaches.” Created as a mockery of the current ruling party BJP, the movement managed to gather more than 11.1 million followers and 350,000 members in just days since its inception. The rise of the party is indicative of the fact that the country’s Gen-Z has reached the breaking point due to the unemployment rate of 29.1%.
